Safari Activities Done in the Wet Season: Despite the fact that it is good to always carry out wildlife safaris during the dry season because there are various safari activities that can be carried out in the various national parks, it does not mean that one cannot still have a memorable safari adventure during the wet seasons.

The rainy season, which is between months of March to May and from September to December also has several safari activities, that can be best done within this season, and some of these include the following below;

Gorilla trekking.

Gorilla trekking is one of the most sought safari activities in the pearl of Africa, and this activity can be carried out from only two major national parks in the republic of Uganda which are; Bwindi impenetrable national park known to be home to over 800 endangered mountain gorilla species trekked within four sectors such as; Nkuringo sector, Buhoma sector, Ruhija sector, Rushaga sector and Mgahinga Gorilla national park.

Matter of fact, gorilla trekking in the rainy season is much easier to carry out compared to the dry season and this is because, within the rainy season, mountain gorillas reduce their movements within the park whereby they always gather in specific areas, which they consider as their best hidings.

Game drives.

Queen Elizabeth National Park, Murchison Falls National Park, Kidepo National Park and many others are considered to be top game drive safari destinations in the republic of Uganda and as sightseers carry out these safari activities, they get chances to marvel at species such as; impalas, gazelles, Uganda Kob, elands among others.

Chimpanzee trekking.

Chimpanzee trekking can also be carried out during the rainy season because the chimpanzee species always limit their movement within the park and this safari activity is best carried out in destinations like; Kibale National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Budongo Forest which act as good natural habitats to a large population of the chimpanzees. And sightseers can as well combine this safari activity with other safari activities in the destinations such as game viewing.

Bird watching.

Bird watching is also not limited and can be done in the rainy season and because the rainy season is considered the best time when the breeding of birds occurs and it is the best season to spot migratory birds in large numbers, flying in from Europe. these bird species that can be spotted include; blue checked bee-eater, African Darter, Great Egret, chapins flycatcher, crowned lapwing, red-throated lathe, Rockefeller’s sunbird, Rwenzori batis, African wattled lapwing, common squacco heron, Eastern grey plantain eater, chapins flycatcher and many others.
