Narus River being most interesting with more animals during the dry season and with more accommodations compared to the Kidepo River flows north-western via the part of Kidepo national park joining the larger Kidepo River to Komoloich approximately 13m after flowing into South Sudan. Narus valley where the river flows is an incredible section of the park for wildlife viewing safaris. Narus valley is 40% higher in receiving rainfall compared to Kidepo valley with 89 centimetres versus 64 centimetres. With its diverse soil arrangements, Narus river forms continuous swamplands and water ponds in the middle of the rolling savannah and bush land that attract animals and crocodiles. Hence the reason there are more animals in the Narus valley in the dry season, hence establishment of most accommodations in the Narus valley.

Kidepo River is the largest in Kidepo national park close to the border with South Sudan, containing the hot springs (kanangorok-the place of black stones. It’s only in Kidepo River where you find pygmy crocodiles and due to its presence of water throughout the year, several bird species and animals are attracted to stay at the river.
