Namoni Lodge is a mid-range eco-friendly accommodation found in the Karamoja region, near Narus valley on the edge of Uganda’s breathtaking Kidepo valley national park. The lodge is convenient and in a perfect base that allows a unique glimpse of nature to travelers and tourists who are keen to explore Uganda’s breathtakingly wild game and surrounding landscape.
How to get there
One can reach the lodge by road from Kampala city via Gulu-Kitgum, which takes approximately 8-9 hours (571 kilometers), or by a 2-hour flight from Entebbe International Airport to the nearby Apoka airstrip using Aerolink, followed by a short transfer to the lodge.
About the lodge
Namoni Lodge features over 5 spacious and comfortable tents that are suitable for all types of travelers, overlooking the beautiful savannah landscape and reflecting the African Traditional Building style with local materials while ensuring comfort.
Tents are well elevated on a raised ground, decorated and furnished with private en suite facilities of flushing toilets, bathrooms with hot and cold showers, beds wrapped with mosquito nets, hand wash basins, extinguishers, white duvets, dressing mirrors, chairs, and tables, free toiletries, complementary bottled water, and many more.
Tents have large verandas, private wooden balconies and large sitting areas overlooking the spectacular view of the savannah landscape and surrounding area.
Tents are well equipped with comfortable, spacious beds, including queen-sized beds, single beds for individuals, double beds for sharing, and family rooming options.

A restaurant in the main building that serves both international and local meals that meet guests’ choice. Meals include. Buffet breakfasts, lunches, and dinners are served by well-trained, friendly, and organized staff.
A well-stocked bar with various drinks, both local and international beers, allows you to relax overlooking the spectacular view of the surrounding landscape.

WIFI internet hotspot available in the main building that enables visitors to keep in touch with their families and friends.
Activities include community tours in the local village, nature walks, and a game drive in the park, which will give you a chance to spot a wide range of animals, among many others .
Kidepo Valley National Park is located in the northeast, near Kareng in the Kaabong District, Karamoja Region, Uganda. The park occupies a total area of 1,442km squared. The park lies between Uganda’s border with Sudan and Kenya, just 700 km from kampala.
Kidepo Valley National Park is a rugged savannah with hills and a narus valley. The 2,750-meter Mount Morungole dominates the park, while the Kidepo and Narus rivers cross it. Kidepo valley national park has a few different accommodations: budget, mid- range and luxury.
The park is home to over 86 animal species, including elephants, buffaloes, lions (including some tree-climbing lions in the savannah), zebras (both black and white), antelopes, cheetahs, spotted hyenas, and 463 different bird species, such as the Kori bustard, Abyssinian ground hornbill, secretary bird, ostrich, carmine, yellow-billed and Jackson’s hornbills, and some ostriches. March to April is the best time to be in kidepo national park for the variety of animal species migrating to seek food.

Chances are high of spotting the tree-climbing lions, which usually rest in the branches of the sausage trees close to the Narus Valley or on the rock just as you drive to the Apoka Park Headquarters.
The local communities around the park are pastoral Karamojong people, who are similar to the Maasai of Kenya. While in kidepo you can do different activities which include; game viewing in the vast savannah ,you spot variety of animals like ;herds of cape buffaloes, African elephant ,cheeters ,lions and other animals, hot spring visit in kanangorok and kidepo valley , nature walks in the park community visits in the local village of karamoja(traditional dances), hiking mount morungule, bird watching since the park has different bird species and many more activities.
