Cape Buffaloes in Kidepo: Kidepo valley national park is located in the north Eastern part of Uganda. The park boasts with semi arid Savannah vegetation and rugged hills boarding Sudan and Kenya, the Kidepo is surrounded by the Karamojong and the ik tribes of Uganda.

The Buffalo’s in Kidepo are unique uncountable due to numerous herds. If tourists are looking for a buffalo safari experience in Africa Kidepo is the best place to go and see them in large numbers.

Buffalo’s mainly live in Savannah grasslands, calves always have reddish hair which normally turns black as they grow, and the male Buffalo’s are slightly bigger than the female ones normally weighing 500-900 kilograms.

The buffalo gestation period normally takes about 11 months and the calves are protected by their mothers but join other herds after a few weeks. They usually run to the swamps to cool off the heat during hot days.

Apart from Buffalo’s tourists can also view other animals in the park like lions, gazelles, zebras, leopards, cheetahs, elephants many more with many different bird species, and the breathtaking landscapes you can’t find elsewhere in the world.
