2 Days Source of Nile is one of the shortest trips to Uganda’s most famous River Nile. This happens to be the longest River in Africa and in the world. A visit to the source of the nile in Jinja will leave you thrilled and with a life’s milestone. The river originates from the source Lake Victoria.
Day 1; Transfer to Jinja
You will meet your driver guide as early as 6 am to start your 2 Days Source of Nile journey to Jinja district located in the Eastern part of Uganda. Jinja is one of the most interesting tourist sites in Uganda because of availability of water related activities. It’s also best known to be the source of River Nile discovered by Explorer John Speke. A drive to Jinja is very interesting as it exposes you to interesting sites in the Eastern part of the country. You will drive through Lugazi sugarcane factory and plantations, Mabari forest which is the largest rainforest in Uganda then finally reach Jinja in 2-4 hours depending on the traffic and spend. The Jinja Bridge welcomes you in the area, proceed for your lunch in one of the best tourist local restaurants in town, drive around Jinja town then connect to the Source of the Nile.
Meet a local guide who will take you around and explain details for you about the Source of the Nile and take pictures. Then later take a small boat to cross to a point that is believed to be the Source of River Nile to see for yourself. Later evening a sunset boat cruise on lake Victoria is an added adventure. Cruising on the longest lake in Africa is relaxing and exciting. Meet your driver and proceed to check-in your lodge for dinner and overnight stay. Day 2: Transfer back to Kampala After your delicious breakfast at your lodge, explore a bit more of Jinja, as mentioned is the best destination for water activities depending on your interest, there are other activities like bungee jumping, white water rafting, waterfalls visit, Kayaking to mention but a few. Embark on your journey back to Kampala with en route lunch and views of the countryside. You will either be dropped at a location you advise in Kampala/Entebbe or drive directly to Entebbe airport for your evening flight back home. End of the tour
