5 Days Murchison Falls and Kidepo Safari (Big 5 game)

Day 1: Fly to Kidepo and evening Game Drive

On this kidepo safari you will depart Entebbe airport aboard a scheduled domestic flight operated by Aero-link which operates only on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. Aero-link departs at 12:30 hours arriving in Kidepo Valley National Park at 14:45 hours. This 2 hours flight will allow you have beautiful Aerial views of the lush countryside.

You will land at Apoka airfield and your driver / guide will be waiting to transfer you to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon. Then head out for a game drive to explore the remarkable landscapes of Kidepo Valley National Park including the magical Narus Valley where you will have many chances of seeing a range of game including the herds of Cape Buffaloes, African elephants, Jackson’s Hartebeest, Klipspringer, Jackals and possibly Lions among others before heading back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Morning game drive and Hot springs visit in Kidepo Valley

Have breakfast and brace yourself another thrilling game drive in the vast savannah of Kidepo Valley intercepted by patches of borassus palm and the rising scenic hills. Enjoy the stunning views of the morning sun shining over the hills of Lomej, the Lotukei Mountains to the north close to the Sudan border, the Morungole range to the southern boundary of Kidepo before the rays strike down to the endless valleys of Kidepo and Narus valley.

Return to the lodge for lunch and unwind a bit before embarking on a drive to Kidepo valley close to south Sudan boarder to visit the hot springs and you can encounter Ostriches within the region although their numbers are highly threatened by poaching by south Sudanese.

Day 3: Transfer for Murchison Falls National Park (7-8 hours)

After early morning breakfast, embark on your journey to Murchison falls park with lunch en route in Gulu town. Proceed to enter the park and connect to your lodge with en route game drive. Dinner and overnight stay at Pakuba safari lodge (Mid-range)/Paraa Safari lodge for Luxury

Day 4: Game drive and launch cruise – Top of the falls hike

After an early breakfast at the lodge, you will go for a morning game drive. The activity takes about 3-5 hours depending on animals available, and you will find animals including elephants, Rothschild giraffes, buffaloes, lions, Hartebeest, Uganda Kobs, Oribis and waterbucks.

After the drive, you will return to the lodge for lunch. Later afternoon at 2 pm, go for a launch cruise on the along the Nile which will give you an exciting panoramic view at the bottom of the mighty Murchison falls. Along the cruise, you will encounter crocodiles, hippos, and birds on the river banks like kingfisher, cormorants and bee-eater. You will spend take viewing the falls at the bottom while taking pictures then later return to meet your drive and connect back to your lodge and a relaxed evening.

After viewing the bottom of the falls, you will hike to the fall of the falls and be able to explore falls a different viewpoints. Meet your driver at the top and transfer you back to your lodge. Dinner and overnight stay at lodge as above

Day 5: Rhino Activity and transfer back to Kampala

After breakfast, drive out of the park to connect to Ziwa Sanctuary for Rhino trekking. Lunch will be served depending on where you will. You will be dropped off a place you will advise. This is a 4-5 hours’ drive to Kampala. End of the tour
