7 Days Kidepo & Murchison Falls Safari
7 Days Kidepo & Murchison Falls Safari is a longer tour that will thrill you with a variety of wildlife in two different national parks. The epic part of this trip is that you will visit murchison falls national park and kidepo national park in the same safari package.
Day 1: Arrive & transfer to Hotel
Upon arrival at Entebbe airport you will start your 7 Days Kidepo & Murchison Falls Safari, you will be welcomed by our company representative together with your driver guide and drive to your hotel in Kampala for relaxation depending on your arrival time. Dinner and overnight stay at Fairway Hotel for mid-range/Sheraton Hotel for Luxury/Forrest Cottages for budget
Day 2: Kampala to Gulu
Have breakfast and begin your journey to Gulu town in Northern Uganda; this is an interesting drive on a smooth road and there are a number of optional activities en-route notable among them being a visit to Ziwa rhino sanctuary with interesting things to see. Have lunch en-route and proceed to Gulu arriving late afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Bomah Hotel/Church Hill Hotel
Day 3: Gulu to Kidepo Valley National Park
You will continue your journey of the 7 Days Kidepo & Murchison Falls Safari and Breakfast will be served early and embark on your journey to Kidepo Valley National Park. This is a 3 to 4 hours drive with eye-catching sites along the way including the Mantattas (small grass thatched houses) and the scenic views of the hills which separate the lands of Acholi and Karamoja.
You will also cross some seasonal rivers and arrive Kidepo Valley National Park well in time for Lunch and an evening game drive in the Narus valley. Narus valley is known to possess the largest buffalo herds than anywhere else in the entire world. There are also high chances of spotting big cats on a hunt and on a lucky day; you may spot the rare cheetahs too which are endemic to Kidepo in the whole of Uganda. Head back to the lodge for lunch and embark on an evening game drive in the Narus valley again. Dinner and overnight at Kidepo Savannah lodge for mid-range (Self-contained)/ Budget (Non-self-contained) /Apoka lodge for Luxury
Day 4: Game drive and Hot springs visit in Kidepo Valley
Enjoy breakfast and briefly visit the Narus valley for another game drive. The park has great observation points with binoculars and you will be happy to use them and you can never have enough of a game drive in this park! Return to the lodge for lunch and unwind a bit before embarking on a drive to Kidepo valley close to south Sudan boarder to visit the hot springs where you will encounter different bird species especially Ostriches within the region although their numbers are highly threatened by poaching by south Sudanese. Dinner and overnight at lodge as above.
Day 5: Drive to Murchison falls national park.
Very early after breakfast the 7 Days Kidepo & Murchison Falls Safari will proceed as you depart Kidepo via Gulu for lunch then proceed to Murchison falls national park. This is a full day drive however you will reduce the distance from Kidepo to Kampala. You will have dinner and spend a night at Pakuba safari lodge for mid-range/Heritage Safari lodge for budget/Paraa Safari lodge for luxury
Day 6: Game drive and boat cruise
After your breakfast, depart for a game drive at the delta and explore the park’s wildlife. Murchison Falls Park is the best destination to spot the lions and the leopards, expect to see you other animals like the hyenas, elephants, and different antelopes. Return for lunch at the lodge and prepare to go for the afternoon boat cruise to the bottom of falls. You have an option of hiking to the top of the falls and meet your driver at the top. Return to your lodge and rest.
Day 7: Transfer back to Kampala After breakfast, if you missed the top of the falls on a hike, your driver will first take you to explore the top of the falls before you proceed to Masindi for lunch then proceed to Kampala/Entebbe to the airport for your onward flight or drop off at your own booked hotel in either Entebbe/Kampala.
